Printing human tissue and in-vitro meat for human consumption.

I have always been fascinated by emerging technologies. Particularly when it comes to printing organs and in vitro meat. In the video above - from the recent TEDMed conference - Gabor Forgacs from Organovo talks about printing human tissue for regeneration and health optimization.

As if that was not Incredible enough, he came later on stage to talk about printing meat from muscle cells with his printers for human consumption.

He brought up a little frying pan, opened up a vial, and pulled out a strip of “printed” pork that he made using his technology, heated it, and ate it right in front of us. The whole spectacle was hilarious and the audience was loving every moment. He’s not sure what to call his new type of meat but is leaning toward “lab meat” or “in vitro meat.”
